Welcome to The New Girl in Nashville and a sweet Southern hello to all of you beautiful new faces and friends!
In October 2014, my handsome bearded husband and I packed up our Mini Schnauzer and our tiny home in Alabama and moved to Nashville because we fell in love with this city during a visit a few short months earlier. We quickly envisioned ourselves growing babies and growing old here. I know God has big plans for us in this new city, and I’m still discovering little pieces of those plans each day.
I started the idea of The New Girl In Nashville over watermelon lemonade froyo with a friend, just one week before I moved. I determined right then and there, over half frozen gummy bears and glazed strawberries that when I moved to this city, I would step out of my comfort zone (at least) once a week and explore new places and meet new people. And document it for myself. As a reminder that new adventures and new friends are always worth it…and not as scary as I make them out to be in my mind.
When I’m not sipping hot tea at brunch, consuming all the tacos (why is the guacamole always extra?), hunting for steals on mid-century furniture at antique malls, or rating local eats on Yelp, you will probably find me behind my camera photographing people and portraits around Nashville, reading in the corner of a quirky coffee shop, or practicing my hand lettering in the stacks of cute journals I can’t help but accumulate.
I’m grateful for those of you following my adventures! If we haven’t met yet, I’d love it if you said hello via the contact form above. I’d love to meet you!
